The History on the Net Group is a UK Company and as such is bound by UK law. Use of this site and its services constitutes an agreement to be bound by UK laws regardless of the location of the user.

Web Hosting

Service Terms and Conditions

Web hosting is provided by the History on the Net Group on a monthly or yearly basis (depending on plan purchased). The initial price charged for hosting is the price displayed on the website at the time of purchase. Renewal of hosting will become due one year or one month after the time of purchase. History on the Net Group web hosting space may used for any lawful purpose including, but not restricted to, website hosting, ecommerce and data storage. History on the Net Group does not allow sites that are pornographic, racist, of a violent nature or collude to illegal activity to be hosted on its servers. Furthermore the use of hacking or spamming programmes is not allowed.

Web hosting space may not be used to run or develop programs. Scripts such as javascript, cgi, perl and php may be used but use of large cgi scripts to run auctions and forums may be prohibited if they cause server disruption. We advise users to find alternative scripts for these activities. Chat scripts of any description are not allowed. Form scripts may be used but use of the name 'formmail' is not allowed. The relevant script should be renamed prior to use. Websites designed by History on the Net Group include a 'safe' form script.

History on the Net Group cannot be held responsible for any loss incurred by down-time of servers or unavailability of the site.

Payment

Payment can be made by credit card, PayPal, cheque, postal order or bank transfer. Web hosting will not be supplied until all payments due at the time of ordering are received. Where hosting is due for renewal customers will be emailed prior to the renewal date advising the date that payment is due. Where payment is not received by the due date we will email two further reminders. When payment becomes overdue by a period of 10 working days and no contact has been made by the customer the hosting service will be terminated.

Cancellation of Service

Should you wish to cancel your hosting with us please contact us in writing (email or letter) giving one month's notice. Where payment has been made for one year's hosting and cancellation is prior to the expiry of that year refunds will be given on a pro rata basis. Domain registration fees (£10 per year per domain) are not refundable under any circumstances. All hosting packages include free domain registration and therefore any refunds due will be reduced by the sum of £10 to cover costs of domain registration.

Privacy

History on the Net Group respects customer's privacy and does not pass information about users or customers to third parties. The identity of all visitors to History on the Net remains private. Contact details of customers making History on the Net Group purchases are stored on a private database to facilitate returns, renewals or processing of future queries.

History on the Net Group does not use cookies to track visitor activity, however cookies are required to use the shopping basket for purchases. Cookies store information pertaining to items placed in the shopping basket in order for it to be processed and the total amount payable to be passed to our payment gateways.

History on the Net Group will take all reasonable precautions to maintain the privacy of both visitors to the site and purchasers from the site. However, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of data transmitted via online forms.

Website Design

Design Terms and Condtions

History on the Net Group will undertake website design where agreement has been made verbally or in writing by telephone, letter, fax, email or by placing an order for this service online. The placing of an order verbally or in writing as defined above, will be deemed to be a contract between the customer and History on the Net Group.

History on the Net Group will take every reasonable precaution to ensure that scripts used to produce a website design are free from errors and will thoroughly test all designs online prior to completion, but cannot be held responsible for any subsequent loss incurred due to website non-performance or malfunction.

The website design and content within will remain the property of History on the Net Group until payment for the design is received in full.

Where the customer supplies images and other materials to be used in the website design it is the customer's responsibility to check that such materials are not in breech of copyright. History on the Net Group cannot be held responsible for any copyright infringement where material has been supplied to us by the customer.

Where requested History on the Net Group will give an approximate date for completion of design work. However, History on the Net Group will not be tied to deadlines and is not liable for any loss incurred by failure to complete work due to any circumstances.

All our website designs are compatible with Internet Explorer 6 & 7 and most are compatible with Mozilla browsers, however, we cannot guarantee functionality with other browsers.

Payment

Payment for template designs is due at the time of ordering. The price charged will be that displayed on the website at the time of ordering. Payment includes customization of the template as detailed on the template design page.

Where a customer requests a bespoke design a written quotation will be provided by email. Acceptance of the quotation will be deemed to be binding contract between both parties. A deposit of 40% of the total amount payable is required prior to commencement of work. The balance of payment will become due once work has been completed.

Payment can be made by Credit/Debit card, PayPal, Cheque, postal order or bank transfer.

Copyright Statement

The original content and design of this site is protected by copyright. It is the property of History on the Net Group and permission should be sought for any unauthorised use of the material within. Visitors are permitted to copy, reproduce, republish, download, print or post content and extracts from the site provided that credit is given to www.historyonthenetgroup.co.uk for their own personal and non commercial use only. Any unauthorised use of content, including downloading to cache, without permission from History on the Net Group will be deemed to be in contravention of copyright law. Permission to use any aspect of the site for any reason not authorised above should be sought by email: webmaster@historyonthenetgroup.co.uk

Images used have either been produced by History on the Net, licensed for use on the site or have been thoroughly researched to ensure that they are in the public domain. Furthermore, History on the Net Group cannot be held responsible for any loss of data, profits or interruption of business caused through use of this site.
