Navigation

Having designed and written a number of web pages it is important that the user of the site is able to navigate easily between them. Most users will want to know:

Where they are
Where they can go
How they can get to where they want to go
How they can get back to where they were before

It is also vital to ensure that navigation is consistent throughout the site and that the answers to the questions above can be answered from any page. As the site grows attention to navigation becomes more important. It is also widely acknowledged that different users will prefer different types of navigational aid from textual hyperlinks, graphical hyperlinks, drop-down menus, or text menus.
